An Uber Eats driver has been arrested for causing thousands of dollars in damage to a downtown condo building.

On January 9, approximately 7:20 pm, a driver attempted several times to contact a customer using the touch-screen intercom system. He had difficulty doing so and punched the screen approximately five times, breaking it and rendering it inoperable. The screen cost more than $4,200 to repair.

Through investigation the driver was identified and Wednesday morning turned himself in at the police station. A 53-year-old Puslinch man is charged with mischief under $5,000. He will appear in court March 27.
