A Guelph woman faces drug and weapons charges after she was observed using drugs in public Wednesday morning.
Just before 11 am a Guelph Police Service officer was patrolling on Woolwich Street near Speedvale Avenue when he saw the woman inside a bus shelter.
She was placed under arrest for possessing controlled substances, and during a search officers located eight individual packages of suspected fentanyl as well as a spring-assisted knife and pepper spray.
A 35-year-old Guelph woman is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of possessing a prohibited weapon. She will appear in court July 28.
