A Guelph woman faces a criminal charge after making several false reports to police and verbally abusing police call takers.
During April, the woman has called police approximately 15 times to report allegations later determined to be false. During these calls she has consistently berated police communicators attempting to assist her and later refused to speak to officers dispatched to investigate her allegations.
On Tuesday evening officers spoke to the woman and warned she could face a criminal charge if the behaviour continued. Within minutes of them leaving she once again called in.
On Wednesday morning a 50-year-old Guelph woman attended the police station and was arrested for public mischief. She will appear in court July 10.
