A Puslinch woman faces an impaired driving charge after she was stopped at a RIDE spot check Saturday evening.

Approximately 8:40 pm officers were conducting checks on Kortright Road West when they spoke to the woman and immediately detected an odour of alcohol. After failing a roadside test she was transported to the police station where further tests confirmed she had more than the legal amount of alcohol in her system.

A 44-year-old Puslinch woman is charged with impaired driving. Her licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle was impounded for seven days. She will appear in court February 13.

Almost 900 vehicles were checked during Saturday’s RIDE checks. Fifteen drivers were asked to provide roadside breath samples but no additional criminal charges were laid.
