A Guelph man was arrested for impaired driving early Sunday following a call from a concerned citizen.
Approximately 3:15 am a man reported another man who was very unsteady on his feet while attempting to enter a business on Woodlawn Road West. The witness followed the man as he drove away from the area. Officers located the suspect in a parking lot on Silvercreek Parkway North.
The driver was showing signs of impairment. After failing a roadside breath test he was transported to the police station, where further tests confirmed he had more than twice the legal amount of alcohol in his system. A 31-year-old Guelph man is charged with impaired driving. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days. He will appear in court May 5.
