A Guelph man faces impaired and dangerous driving-related charges following several driving complaints Wednesday evening.

Approximately 5:20 pm police began receiving complaints about the driver of a white Mini cutting off other cars, passing in turning lanes and following other cars while gesturing at the drivers.

A short time later the vehicle was located driving in a parking lot on Westwood Road and stopped. Officers detected an odour of alcohol on the driver’s breath and asked him to provide a breath sample, which he repeatedly refused to do.

A 35-year-old Guelph man is charged with refusing to provide a sample and dangerous driving. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days. He will appear in court June 12.
