A Guelph man is charged with impaired driving after officers were called Friday night to an east-end business.
Just before midnight officers were called to a business on York Road, where they found an e-bike parked with the keys in the ignition and two six-packs of beer on the footrest.
While officers were on scene they were approached by a man carrying an empty beer can who was identified by witnesses as the driver of the e-bike. The man appeared intoxicated and had a strong odour of alcohol on his breath.
After failing a roadside breath test he was transported to the police station, where further tests confirmed he had more than the legal amount of alcohol in his system. A 33-year-old Guelph man is charged with impaired operation. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his e-bike was impounded for seven days.
