Man pushes girlfriend to safety, hit by truck

The Guelph Police Service continues to investigate after a man was hit by a transport truck Monday afternoon after pushing his girlfriend to safety.
Approximately 4:40 pm emergency services were called to Gordon Street and Stone Road. Investigation revealed a man and woman, both 18, were crossing the street when the truck began turning. The man pushed the woman out of the way before being struck by the front of the truck, which tried to stop to avoid the collision.
The man was transported to a Hamilton hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The woman was not injured. The truck driver remained on scene and cooperated with police.
