The Guelph Police Service is asking residents to check home or dash camera footage as we continue to investigate a reported home invasion last month.
Just before 8 pm January 23, an 18-year-old man was home alone near Elmira Road North and Tovell Drive when he heard a knock and saw a man standing at the front door. Moments later he heard glass breaking and locked himself in an upstairs bathroom.
The complainant heard someone running up the stairs and begin pushing the bathroom door. He yelled and the intruder fled. Officers arrived a short time later and found a glass door broken and a trail of wet footprints and broken glass leading upstairs to the bathroom.
A man was captured on security video wearing a puffy black North Face jacket, track pants and a full face covering. The second man was described by witnesses as also wearing all black. They left the area in a grey or silver SUV.
