A Kitchener man faces an impaired driving charge after his poor parking caught the eye of police in Guelph.

Approximately 3:30 am Thursday, an officer patrolling on Silvercreek Parkway North spotted a running car parked diagonally across multiple parking spots. The officer stopped to speak to the driver and immediately noted an odour of alcohol on his breath.

The man got out of the vehicle and was unsteady on his feet. He was arrested and transported to the police station, where tests indicated he had twice the legal amount of alcohol in his system.

A 35-year-old Kitchener man is charged with impaired driving. He will appear in court April 7.
