A Guelph man faces stunt and careless driving charges following a traffic stop Thursday night.
Just before 9 pm a member of the Traffic Unit was patrolling on Gordon Street at Wellington Street when he observed a driver accelerating quickly, tailgating another car and then passing on a solid line.
The officer paced the other vehicle at more than 90 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.
A 21-year-old Guelph man is charged with stunt driving, speeding and careless driving. His licence was suspended for 30 days and his vehicle was impounded for 14 days. A stunt driving conviction will attract a minimum licence suspension of one year, a minimum fine of $2,000 and six demerit points.
