The Guelph Police Service is investigating after thousands of dollars in jewelry was stolen from a south-end home while the owners were on vacation.
Just after 1 am Wednesday police were called to a home near Victoria Road South and Summerfield Drive. The owners had returned from a week-long trip to find the front door of the home had been damaged. Drawers throughout the house had been opened and ransacked and a large quantity of gold jewelry was missing.
Security cameras caught a masked suspect looking in windows before gaining entry to the house approximately 9 pm Saturday. He was described as having an average build and wearing grey clothes and a face covering.
