A Kitchener man faces trafficking and driving charges following a traffic stop in Guelph Saturday night.

Just after 9 pm officers observed a vehicle leaving a business on Silvercreek Parkway South and pulled it over to check the insurance status. The driver said the vehicle did not belong to him but was able to provide the appropriate paperwork.

Investigation revealed the driver is bound by six driving prohibitions. He was placed under arrest and a search revealed several individual packages of cocaine as well as nearly $1,400 in cash.

A 58-year-old Kitchener man is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, four counts of driving while prohibited and two counts of driving while suspended. He will appear in court August 4. The vehicle was impounded for 45 days.
