The Guelph Police Service is investigating two attempted vehicle thefts early Tuesday which appear to be related.
On Tuesday morning a resident near Clairfields Drive West and Gibbs Crescent reported someone trying to enter his 2023 Ford F-350. Security video showed a man approaching the truck just after 4 am and trying unsuccessfully to gain entry. The video also showed a small black car leaving the scene.
Also Tuesday morning, a resident of Downey Road reported she found the door ajar on her 2025 Lincoln Navigator, prompting her to review camera footage. The footage showed a black car parking in the neighbour’s driveway and a passenger from the car entering the Lincoln. He was able to start the vehicle but could not drive it due to a security feature the owner had installed.
