The Guelph Police Service is investigating after two homes in the same south-end neighborhood were entered over the weekend.
On Sunday evening, a resident near Downey Road and Ptarmigan Drive called police after arriving home to find the rear patio door had been smashed. Several lock boxes were pried open and a quantity of Chinese currency as well as a gold necklace were stolen.
The break-in occurred between 2 pm and 9:15 pm Sunday.
On Monday evening, another resident in the same neighbourhood called police. She had been away for a few days and came home to find her patio door smashed. Several areas of the home were ransacked but it was not immediately clear what was stolen.
