Two stunt drivers taken off the road

Two Guelph men will be looking for alternate transportation after they were charged with stunt driving in separate incidents Monday.
Approximately 4:50 pm, a member of the Guelph Police Traffic Services Unit was patrolling near College Avenue West and the Hanlon Expressway when he clocked a Mazda travelling 123 km/h in a 70 km/h zone.
A few hours later, another member of the Traffic Services Unit was conducting speed enforcement on Gordon Street north of Maltby Road when he clocked a Tesla travelling 100 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone.
A 43-year-old Guelph man and 31-year-old Guelph man are each charged with speeding and stunt driving. Their licences were suspended for 30 days and their vehicles impounded for 14 days.
A stunt driving conviction will attract a minimum licence suspension of one year, a minimum fine of $2,000 and six demerit points.
