COCAINE, FENTANYL AND FIREARM SEIZED BY NOTTAWASAGA OPP

(NOTTAWASAGA DETACHMENT) - Officers from the Nottawasaga Detachment Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) with members of the Huronia West CSCU of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Barrie Tactical Unit executed a warrant in Barrie leading to multiple arrests, firearm and drug seizure.
On April 27th, 2026, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in Barrie regarding an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. During the execution of the warrant, three individuals were located inside the residence and placed under arrest. At the completion of the search police had located and seized a Glock handgun with an extended magazine, 22 grams of Cocaine, small amounts of Fentanyl and Methamphetamine, 6 MDMA pills, and a collapsible baton.
As a result of the investigation the first accused, a 31-year-old was charged with:
- Traffick in a schedule I substance - Cocaine
- Traffick in a schedule I substance - Other drugs
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Other drugs
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
- Possession of a firearm obtained by crime knowing its possession is unauthorized
- Careless storage of a firearm
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of Prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous person
- Fail to comply with Undertaking x2
The second accused, a 34-year-old was charged with:
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
- Possession of a firearm obtained by crime knowing its possession is unauthorized
- Careless storage of a firearm
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of Prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous person
