VEHICLE COLLIOSN LEADS TO DRUG SEIZURE IN NEW TECUMSETH

(NEW TECUMSETH, ON) - Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two individuals following a two vehicle collision that led to an impaired investigation, multiple charges and a drug seizure in the Town of New Tecumseth.
Shortly after 10:00 pm on January 6, 2026, Nottawasaga OPP responded to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of 4th Line and Sideroad 15 in New Tecumseth. Officers located the vehicles in the ditch and began their investigation.
As a result of the investigation, officers arrested two occupants from one of the involved vehicles. Officers also seized a substantial quantity of suspected cocaine from the vehicle.
The driver, Jordyn CAYER, a 26-year-old, of New Tecumseth, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - cocaine
- Public Mischief
- Driving while under suspension
- Driving motor vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
- Driving motor vehicle or boat with liquor readily available
The passenger, John MCGUINNIGLE, a 34-year-old, of New Tecumseth, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - cocaine
- Permit motor vehicle to be operated without insurance
- Having liquor in open container in unauthorized place
One individual was transported to hospital by EMS with minor injuries.
Both accused parties were released on a Form 10 Undertaking and are scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford with a future court date to answer to the charges.
