IMPAIRED DRIVER CHARGED AFTER COLLISION WITH HYDRO POLE

(ADJALA-TOSORONTIO, ON) - Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a driver with impaired operation following a single-vehicle collision involving a hydro pole.
On June 1, 2026, shortly before 6:00 pm, police were notified of a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed that had collided with a hydro pole on Adjala-Tecumseth Townline. Officers attended the scene and observed a heavily damaged vehicle and a downed hydro pole with live wires, which ignited a grass fire.
Police spoke with the driver, who did not require medical attention, and observed signs of impairment. Following further investigation, the driver was arrested.
As a result of the investigation, Adrian POULIN, a 28 year old of Alliston, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired - blood drug concentration (80 plus)
- Dangerous operation
- Obstruct peace officer
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford at a later date. Their driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.
