THREE DRIVERS CHARGED WITH STUNT DRIVING IN THREE DAYS

(ESSA TOWNSHIP, ON) - Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while conducting speed enforcement have charged three individuals with stunt driving in three days.

On Saturday March 07, 2026, shortly after 11:30 pm an officer conducting speed enforcement on highway 89 east of Alliston, stopped a vehicle travelling at 143km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

The driver was charged with:

  • Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform stunt - Excessive speed
  • Speeding 143km/h in a posted 80km/h zone
  • Driver fail to surrender licence
  • Fail to surrender insurance card

On Monday March 09, 2026, shortly after 08:00 am while conducting speed enforcement on Mill Street in Angus an officer stopped two vehicles within an hour for stunt driving, both travelling at excessive speeds.

The first driver was stopped after travelling at 116km/h in a posted 50km/h zone.

The driver was charged with:

  • Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform stunt - Excessive speed
  • Speeding 116km/h in a posted 50km/h zone

The second driver was stopped shortly before 09:00 am travelling 112km/h in a 50km/h zone.

The driver was charged with:

  • Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform stunt - Excessive speed
  • Speeding 112km/h in a posted 50km/h zone

All drivers received a 30 day licence suspension, had their vehicles impounded for 14 days and have future court dates to answer to the charges.
