DRIVER ARRESTED FOR IMPAIRED

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Saugeen First Nation resident following an impaired driving investigation in the municipality of South Bruce Peninsula.
On January 18, 2026, at approximately 6:50 am, police received a call from a member of the public regarding a possible impaired driver in Sauble Beach. An officer in the area located the pickup truck travelling on Main Street in Sauble Beach. Officers conducted a traffic stop and, following further investigation, the driver was placed under arrest.
Daniel MCGRATH, 32 years old, from Saugeen First Nation, has been charged under the Criminal Code (CC) and the Liquor Licence and Control Act (LLCA) with the following offences:
- Impaired Operation CC
- Impaired Operation - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus) CC
- Drive Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor LLCA
A 90‑day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven‑day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused was held for a bail hearing on January 18, 2026.
