TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO DRUG TRAFFICKING CHARGE IN OWEN SOUND

(OWEN SOUND, ON) - A Meaford resident is charged with drug‑related offences following a traffic stop in the early hours in Owen Sound on May 8th.
On Friday, May 8, at approximately 1:00 am, members of the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting proactive patrols in the area of 3rd Avenue East and 10th Street East in Owen Sound.
An officer observed a Highway Traffic Act violation and conducted a traffic stop. During the interaction, the officer observed drugs inside the vehicle. The driver was arrested, and a subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of approximately 18 grams of methamphetamine.
Tamara FLYNN, 31-years-old, of Meaford, has been charged with the following offences under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) and the Controlled drugs and Substances Act (CDSA):
- No clear view to side - HTA
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking - Methamphetamine - CDSA
The accused was held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on May 8, and was later released with a future court date of June 4 in Owen Sound.
