(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) - An individual from North Bruce Peninsula is facing impaired driving-related charges stemming from a single motor vehicle collision that had occurred on Stokes Bay Road, in the Township of Northern Bruce Peninsula.

On October 13, 2025, at approximately 8:10 pm, the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Stokes Bay Road, in the Township of Northern Bruce Peninsula. The driver had swerved to avoid a deer and lost control of the vehicle, ending up striking a telephone pole.

The driver was not injured.

Scott BLIGHT, 58-years-old, of Northern Bruce Peninsula, is charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired - Alcohol
  • Operation while Impaired - 80 plus

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on November 6, 2025.
