MULTIPLE CHARGES LAID AFTER DRIVER ARRESTED IN OXFORD COUNTY

(EAST ZORRA-TAVISTOCK, ON) - Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on the border of Oxford County and the City of Woodstock. With the help of Woodstock Police Service, the driver was arrested, and multiple charges were laid.
On June 15, 2025, at approximately 7:00 pm, members of Oxford OPP were dispatched to a collision on Oxford Road 4 in the Township of East Zorra-Tavistock.
Upon further investigation the driver, Joshua DEWHIRST, a 29-year-old resident of Woodstock was arrested and charged with:
- Dangerous Operation
- Fail to Stop After Accident
- Assault
- Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand
- Obstruct Peace Officer
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
