OXFORD OPP WARN STUDENTS OF PLAYING “SENIOR ASSASSIN GAME”

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) - It is never a good idea to have a replica firearm, of any kind, in your possession in public. A prank or trend that is intended to be harmless could have serious consequences.

Today, April 24, 2026, at approximately 11:00 am, the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call regarding a suspicious person in the Town of Ingersoll.

Police determined the call stemmed from a student playing a game called “Senior Assassin”, in which participants use water guns to “eliminate” a fellow participant.

At the time of the call, the public nor the police knew the weapon was a water gun, which caused public concern.

Oxford OPP wants to remind participants that members of the public who are unfamiliar with the game may confuse a water gun with a real firearm and call the police.

The photo of the replica firearm is provided to show how closely this water gun resembles a real firearm.

No charges have been laid.
