Hamilton Police have arrested four individuals following an investigation into a series of thefts and robberies targeting Shoppers Drug Mart locations across the city.
Beginning in April 2026, investigators examined multiple incidents involving the theft of high-value fragrance products from several Shoppers Drug Mart locations throughout Hamilton. Through surveillance review and investigative efforts, police identified suspects believed to be connected to a number of incidents.
As the investigation progressed, investigators observed an escalation in the incidents, with suspects using hammers to smash glass fragrance display cases before stealing large quantities of perfume and cologne products.
On May 21, 2026, at approximately 9:00 pm, three male suspects attended the Shoppers Drug Mart located at 661 Upper James Street. One suspect used a hammer to smash fragrance display cabinets before the group fled with stolen merchandise in a grey Nissan Rogue. No physical injuries were reported.
On May 22, 2026, at approximately 1:49 am, police responded to a similar robbery at the Shoppers Drug Mart located at 510 Concession Street. Three male suspects entered the store armed with hammers, smashed display cases, stole fragrance products, and fled in the same vehicle.
Later that morning, at approximately 10:32 am, police were dispatched to a third robbery at the Shoppers Drug Mart located at 1000 Golf Links Road. During that incident, suspects aggressively smashed glass display cabinets while employees and customers fled the area in fear.
As part of the ongoing investigation, members of the Division 30 HEAT Unit located the suspect vehicle and arrested four individuals without incident.
