Arrest Made in Voyeurism Investigation

Hamilton Police have arrested and charged a 40-year-old Hamilton man in connection with an ongoing voyeurism investigation involving concealed recording devices.
On Saturday, May 2, 2026, police were contacted after video recordings involving the accused were discovered by a witness.
A preliminary review of the materials revealed multiple recordings depicting individuals in private settings without their knowledge or consent. Investigators believe the videos were captured using hidden recording devices placed in locations where individuals had a reasonable expectation of privacy.
The recordings are believed to span several years, between 2007 and 2025. At this time, investigators have not identified all individuals depicted in the videos.
As a result of the investigation, Jason Machado, 40, of Hamilton, has been charged with:
- Three counts of Voyeurism contrary to Section 162 of the Criminal Code
Police have seized multiple electronic devices which are currently undergoing forensic examination as the investigation continues.
Investigators are concerned there may be additional victims and are releasing photographs of the accused in an effort to identify anyone who may have been affected.
