Members of the Hamilton Police Service Major drugs and Gangs Unit have arrested two individuals and seized a quantity of illicit drugs, cash, and a prohibited weapon following the execution of multiple search warrants as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.

On May 7, 2026, investigators executed search warrants at two Hamilton residences and three vehicles connected to the investigation. As a result, police seized:

  • Approximately 500 grams of cocaine
  • Approximately 645 grams of methamphetamine
  • 50 Dilaudid pills
  • 100 Percocet pills
  • A prohibited weapon (Conducted Energy Weapon/Taser)
  • Approximately $1,700 in Canadian currency

Matthew Kulwartian, 32, of Hamilton, has been charged with:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Schedule I (Cocaine)
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Schedule I (Methamphetamine)
  • Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5,000 (Canadian Currency)
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon (Conducted Energy Weapon)
  • Possession Contrary to Order (two counts)

Brittany Schilte, 32, of Hamilton, has been charged with:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Schedule I (Cocaine)
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Schedule I (Methamphetamine)
  • Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5,000 (Canadian Currency)
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon (Conducted Energy Weapon)
