The Hamilton Police Service has laid multiple provincial charges following a joint enforcement initiative conducted by members of the Shooting Response Team and Division 10 Uniform Patrol at a licensed establishment in Hamilton’s east end.

The enforcement action was undertaken in response to ongoing community concerns and a pattern of incidents requiring repeated police response in the surrounding area.

The neighbourhood has been the subject of multiple police investigations, including:

  • A shooting in August 2025 in the immediate vicinity
  • A second shooting on April 18, 2026, which remains under investigation

During the course of those investigations, detectives became aware of alleged violations of liquor licence regulations and launched a separate compliance investigation.

Investigators also received ongoing complaints from residents and community members regarding:

  • Late-night disturbances
  • Suspected after-hours alcohol service
  • Disorder and safety concerns affecting the surrounding neighbourhood

On May 15, 2026, at approximately 4:00 am, officers with Division 10 Uniform Patrol and detectives with the Shooting Response Team attended Wally’s World Bar and Grill, located at 859 King Street East, to conduct a liquor licence inspection pursuant to the Liquor Licence and Control Act.

As a result of the inspection and subsequent investigation, officers laid charges related to:

  • The sale and service of alcohol outside permitted hours
  • Failure to comply with liquor licence conditions
  • Permitting intoxication and disorderly conduct
  • Smoking and cannabis use inside the establishment
  • Failure to maintain proper control of the premises
  • Obstructing police in the lawful execution of their duties

Charges have been laid against:

  • Wally World Bar & Grill Inc. (corporate licence holder)
  • An individual identified as the liquor licence holder
  • An individual identified as a bartender and owner of the corporation

Charges were laid under the:

  • Liquor Licence and Control Act and associated regulations
  • Smoke-Free Ontario Act

This investigation reflects the Hamilton Police Service’s continued response to ongoing community concerns involving disorder, safety, and non-compliance within the neighbourhood.

Hamilton Police recognize the impact that repeated incidents and ongoing disturbances have on residents, neighbouring businesses, and overall community well-being. Addressing locations linked to persistent calls for service and public safety concerns remains a priority.
