Hamilton Police have arrested a 31-year-old male in connection with a series of incidents, including a robbery at a mountain convenience store.

On Friday, September 19, 2025, at approximately 10:00 pm, a lone male entered a convenience store on Upper James Street brandishing what appeared to be a firearm. The suspect demanded cash before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money. The firearm is now believed to have been an imitation.

An investigation by the BEAR Unit, with support from Division 2 and Division 3 officers, linked the suspect to multiple break and enters, thefts, and a stolen vehicle incident in addition to the robbery.

On September 23, 2025, officers arrested Daniel St. Amour, 31, of Hamilton, as he left a residence on Hamilton Mountain. A search warrant was executed; however, the imitation firearm was not recovered.

Daniel St. Amour has been charged with the following offences:

  • Robbery with a Weapon or Imitation
  • Use Firearm or Imitation During an Offence (two counts)
  • Point Firearm
  • Break and Enter – Commit Theft
  • Vehicle Theft
