Auto Theft Investigation "Long Haul" Leads to Arrest

The Hamilton Police Service, with the assistance of the Peel Regional Police Service, has laid multiple Criminal Code charges against a Brampton male in connection with an organized transport truck theft investigation spanning Hamilton and other jurisdictions across Southern Ontario.
The charges result from Project Long Haul, an investigation led by the Hamilton Police Service Break, Enter, Auto Theft and Robbery (BEAR) Unit into the theft of commercial transport trucks. Between January and May 2025, the accused is alleged to have participated in multiple thefts and attempted thefts of Freightliner transport trucks from secured trucking facilities. The total value of the stolen vehicles exceeds $1 million.
The accused is charged under several occurrences with the following offences:
- Break and Enter (Commit / Intent)
- Vehicle Theft and Attempted Vehicle Theft
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Fail to Comply with Release Order
The accused is alleged to be a member of an organized criminal group involved in transport truck thefts throughout Southern Ontario. He currently has multiple matters before the courts.
