Cyclist in Critical Condition Following Collision

On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at approximately 7:54 pm, Hamilton emergency services responded to a collision involving a cyclist and a motor vehicle on the Garth Street overpass crossing the Lincoln Alexander Parkway.
An 18-year-old cyclist from Hamilton, who was riding northbound along the centre median, entered into the northbound lanes of traffic and was struck by a motor vehicle. The impact threw the cyclist from his bicycle. He was not wearing a helmet at the time and sustained critical head injuries.
The cyclist was transported to hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, provided assistance, and is cooperating with investigators. Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the collision.
