Drug Trafficking Warrant in Mount Hope Yields Firearm

Hamilton Police seized a firearm and drugs after a search warrant at a Mount Hope residence.
On August 20, 2024, members of the Hamilton Police Service – Major drugs and Gangs Unit and Division 10 HEAT (High Enforcement Action Team) executed a warrant in Mount Hope. The search uncovered a quantity of cocaine along with other evidence of drug trafficking, a large sum of Canadian currency, a conductive energy weapon, and a loaded.40 calibre handgun.
As a result of the investigation, 31-year-old Daniel Hickling and 29-year-old Aaliyah Sousa have been arrested and are now facing the following charges:
- Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime over $5,000
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Loaded Restricted Firearm
- Unsafe Storage of a Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
- Possession of a Prohibited Device
