Encampment compliance check reveals stolen property

A routine encampment compliance check has resulted in the recovery a local businesses’ property.
On Friday March 21, 2025, Hamilton Police Encampment Engagement officers were conducting a compliance check along Van Wagners Beach Road when they observed items which they believed had been stolen. A male who had been recently trespassed from the property had numerous items strewn about the area within his possession. They included, but are not limited to, the following:
- A go cart
- 4x Honda go cart engines
- Fishing gear
- Valuable tools
The total dollar amount of the items is over $5000.00, and the rightful owner of the items was happy to retrieve them.
The male, 31-year-old of no-fixed-address, was charged with the following:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.00
- Fail to comply with probation
