Fail to Remain leaves two pedestrians with serious injuries

Hamilton Police are appealing to the public for assistance regarding a motor vehicle collision that had left two victims with serious injuries.
On Tuesday December 17, 2024 around 8:20 pm, Hamilton Police responded to the area of Cootes Drive and Main Street West in the City of Hamilton for a motor vehicle collision.
Two pedestrians were crossing at the crosswalk on Cootes Drive when an SUV, which was travelling northbound, struck them. The vehicle did not stop and continued northbound without remaining at the scene.
Witnesses described the SUV as an older-model, blue vehicle - possibly a Dodge Durango.
The pedestrians were transported to hospital after sustaining serious, but non-life-threatening injuries
Police are currently seeking any witnesses to the incident and urge anyone with information to come forward. Investigators are also asking motorists who were in the area at the time to review their dashcam footage. Additionally, any residents or businesses nearby with surveillance cameras are also asked to check for any relevant recordings.
