On Monday October 13, 2025, the Hamilton Police Service charged a 17-year-old male from Hamilton with five counts of Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm under the Criminal Code. In addition, he was also charged with Stunt Driving, Speeding (142 km/hr in a 70 km/hr zone), two counts of Disobey Stop Sign, and two counts of Drive While Passenger Under 16 Fails to Occupy Position with Seat Belt under the Highway Traffic Act. The male youth has been released on an Undertaking.
These charges stem from an investigation into a collision that occurred on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, shortly before 3:00 pm, at Valens Road and Concession 5 West in Flamborough, involving a Volvo commercial motor vehicle and a Kia minivan. The 17-year-old was the driver of the Kia minivan.
All six occupants of the Kia were taken to local hospitals for treatment; one individual continues to recover in hospital.
