Hamilton Police arrested 22-year-old Sukhraj Cheema-Singh in Toronto earlier today. Cheema-Singh was wanted for First-Degree murder in the death of his father.

Around 7:42 pm on Saturday, February 11, 2024, Hamilton Police responded to a call at a residence in Stoney Creek, close to Trafalgar and Mud Street. There, they found 56-year-old Kuldip Singh from Stoney Creek suffering from serious injuries. He was taken to hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Sukhraj Cheema-Singh fled the scene in a dark blue mid-size SUV, later identified as a blue 2022 Ford Edge with a Quebec licence plate. Hamilton Police arrested Cheema-Singh at 2:55 pm in the area of Dufferin St. and Eglington Ave W. He was still driving the vehicle.
