Hamilton Police Arrest One of Canada's Most Wanted

Hamilton Police have arrested 21-year-old Habiton Solomon who was number six on Canada’s 25 most wanted fugitives .
Solomon was arrested after being observed by police during a criminal investigation in Hamilton’s downtown core. Unaware that he was wanted, officers attempted to make the arrest before Solomon fled. He was pursued and eventually apprehended. At that time, officers discovered Solomon was wanted for an earlier shooting in Hamilton and a suspect in a Waterloo homicide.
On Monday, July 22, 2023, at approximately 11:30 pm, Hamilton Police responded to a disturbance call in the area of King Street West and Caroline Street North for multiple people fighting in a parking lot. Upon arrival police discovered evidence of a shooting. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries from the incident.
Solomon is scheduled to appear in bail court this afternoon.
