Hamilton Police Discover Makeshift Drug Operation in Park

Hamilton Police patrolling through downtown parks uncovered a makeshift drug operation, where fentanyl was being prepared for street-level distribution.
On May 15, 2025, at approximately 11:15 am, officers were proactively conducting a safety check in Wolverton Park located at 90 Charlton Avenue when they located a developing encampment. When approached, one of the occupants of the encampment began to conceal drug paraphernalia.
A search was conducted in the makeshift tent and a long list of illegal items was discovered, including fentanyl, crystal meth, oxycodone, morphine, tasers, and other drug trafficking evidence. Most notably, officers found a bag containing specific objects commonly used for cutting drugs to prepare it for distribution on the streets. Officers also discovered a debt list with monies owed to the drug dealers.
The tent containing the items was situated 30 metres away from the park’s play structure.
A 31-year-old male of no-fixed-address has been arrested and charged with the following:
- Production Schedule One Substance
- Proceeds of Crime under $5000.00
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of Prohibited Weapon
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x6
- Possession Contrary to Order x3
