Hamilton Police investigate fail to remain collision

The Hamilton Police Service are currently investigating a motor vehicle collision that has left a victim with serious injuries.
On Saturday December 7, 2024 at approximately 10:30pm, the Hamilton Police Service responded to the area of Emerson Street and Ward Avenue for a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.
The victim and her friend were crossing Emerson Street at a designated pedestrian crosswalk located just north of Ward Avenue. At the same time, the suspect vehicle was travelling southbound on Emerson Street and neglected to stop for the crosswalk.
The suspect vehicle struck the victim which sent her airborne and left her a significant distance from her initial position. It then continued at a fast pace southbound and ultimately left the scene.
The victim sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital accordingly.
Witnesses described the vehicle as a grey sedan. No license plate was obtained at the time.
