Hamilton Police Searching for Attempt Murder Suspect

Hamilton Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a 34-year-old Toronto man who is wanted in a recent attempted murder investigation.
On Friday, January 2, 2026, Hamilton Police responded to a report of a stabbing at the Red Rose Motel on Queenston Road. An adult female sustained serious injuries after she was pulled from a car and attacked by a male known to her. She was taken to hospital for treatment and is now recovering from her injuries.
Once the investigation reached the threshold for an attempted murder charge, the Homicide Unit took over the case and identified a suspect. Joel Benjamin of Toronto is wanted in connection with this incident. Efforts to locate him are ongoing.
