Hamilton Police Warn Public About Daytime Entries

Hamilton Police are aware of a group of suspects canvassing neighbourhoods prior to daytime break and enters. The suspect(s) will get out of a vehicle, knock on the door or ring the doorbell and if unanswered the suspect(s) will leave in a vehicle. The suspect(s) will circle the neighbourhood only to return later and force entry into the residence. Once inside, the suspects are targeting bedrooms containing jewelry.
If the homeowner answers the door, the suspect(s) will make up an excuse or pose as a landscaper or general labourer. The suspect(s) have been observed wearing high visability, reflective clothing, hardhat and face mask. Hamilton Police are asking residents to be aware of this suspicious behaviour and if encountered to report their observations to Police.
