Hamilton Police have arrested a 53-year-old male following a trespassing incident at a student housing residence late Monday evening.

On Monday, November 3, 2025, at approximately 10:00 pm, police were called to a home in the area of Bond Street South after receiving a report of a suspicious male in the backyard of the property.

The female resident advised that the male had disabled the backyard light and fled upon being discovered.

Responding officers quickly arrived in the area and located the male in the yard of a nearby residence. The suspect initially provided police with a false name and was taken into custody for further investigation.

Through investigation, police determined the individual’s true identity to be George Braid, a 53-year-old male of no fixed address, with a history of offences of this nature. He has been charged with the following offences:

  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Trespass/Prowl Near Dwelling
  • Criminal Harassment (x3)
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused has been held for a bail hearing.
