Motorcyclist Fatally Injured on Hamilton Mountain

On Thursday October 2, 2025, at approximately 5:04pm, a two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Upper James Street and Mohawk Road West in the City of Hamilton between a 2018 Suzuki motorcycle and a 2025 Chevy Silverado.
The Chevy pickup truck was northbound, turning left onto Mohawk Road from Upper James Street when a southbound motorcycle collided into the side of the pickup. The 32-year-old male driver of the Suzuki motorcycle was pronounced at the scene. The 68-year-old male driver of the pickup was uninjured and is co-operating with investigators.
The HPS Collision Reconstruction Unit was called in and has carriage of the investigation. Investigators are requesting any motorists in the area at the time of the collision to check their dash cameras and any residences or businesses in the area with surveillance cameras to review their footage.
The intersection was closed for several hours for the investigation but reopened just before 1:30 AM.
All contributing factors are still being considered.
