One arrest made in mountain bear spray incident

Hamilton Police have made an arrest after an incident shut down Walmart on Upper James for a brief period.
On Tuesday January 28, 2025 at approximately 7:15pm two males entered the restaurant located within the Walmart store and made attempts to confront an individual. The pair eventually hopped the serving counter and produced bear spray which they used to assault bystanders and restaurant staff.
After a brief struggle, the two suspects fled on foot leaving the restaurant with extremely poor breathing conditions. The store was evacuated until the irritant had subsided.
Police tracked down the two suspects who continued their attempts to evade Police. After a brief foot chase, one male youth was arrested and charged with the following:
Assault with a weapon
Disobey court order
Disguise with intent
