Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Collision

Hamilton Police are investigating a serious collision involving a pedestrian that occurred shortly after 11:30 am on Monday, February 9, 2026.
A 70-year-old female was walking southbound through the intersection of Barton Street East and Kenilworth Avenue North when she was struck by a Chevrolet Volt that was turning westbound onto Barton Street East.
The pedestrian was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet Volt remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators.
The Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is actively seeking any potential witnesses to this incident and is requesting that any motorists in the area at the time of the collision check their dash cameras. Residents or businesses in the area with surveillance cameras are also asked to review their footage.
