Police Investigating Death on Hamilton Waterfront

Hamilton Police are currently investigating after a deceased person was located in the water near Harbourside Way and Discovery Drive.
At approximately 3:15 pm on April 8, 2026, police were called to the waterfront after a member of the public reported what appeared to be a person in the water. Responding officers attended and confirmed the individual was deceased. Detectives, along with the Marine Unit and Forensic Services, are on scene and continuing the investigation.
The identity of the individual has not yet been confirmed. The circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation.
A police presence will remain in the area as officers continue their work. Members of the public may notice temporary restrictions along the waterfront.
