Police Investigation Takes Guns Off Hamilton’s Streets

On the afternoon of Tuesday, July 23, 2024, Hamilton Police executed a search warrant at an address on East 24th Street after receiving information about the presence of firearms at the location. As a result of the search, officers seized:
- A restricted Colt 1911 handgun with an extended magazine, loaded
- A non-restricted ‘Just Right’ Pistol Carbine rifle, also loaded
- Two additional extended magazines
- Ammunition of various calibres
Johnathan Campbell, 38, of Hamilton, has been arrested and faces multiple charges:
- Possession of Prohibited Weapon
- Possession Contrary to Order
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Careless Use, Carry, Transport, Storage of Firearm
- Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
- Possession of Prohibited Firearm – Loaded
- Trafficking in Firearm, Weapon, Device, or Ammunition
This matter is now before the courts.
