Second Arrest Made for Conspiracy to Commit Murder

On Friday, November 10, 2023 at 8:51pm, Hamilton Police responded to reports of a shooting in the parking lot at 640 Queenston Road, Hamilton. A 22-year-old Hamilton man was located in the parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to hospital and now has life-altering injuries.
During this ongoing attempted murder investigation, police located evidence of a conspiracy to murder a person unrelated to the initial shooting. On April 4, 2024, members of the Hamilton Police Service Homicide Unit arrested Kamaldeep Dhaliwal of Hamilton and charged him with Conspiracy to Commit Murder.
From further investigation into this matter, a second person involved in this conspiracy to commit murder was identified as 27-year-old Michael Francis of Niagara Falls. Michael Francis appeared in court on Friday, June 28, 2024 charged with Conspiracy to Commit Murder.
This investigation is ongoing with efforts to identify the other co-conspirators in this plot to commit murder. The number of co-conspirators and the nature of the evidence leading to this arrest will not be disclosed at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
