Shooting Investigation Leads to Arrest

On May 9, 2025, Hamilton Police Service responded to a shooting at a business located in the area of Main Street East and East Avenue South. The incident was investigated by Detectives with the Shooting Response Team.
On January 23, 2026, members of the Shooting Response Team, in partnership with the Division 30 High Enforcement Action Team (HEAT), executed search warrants at a residence in Ancaster in relation to the shooting investigation, as well as an ongoing drug investigation.
As a result of the search, Detectives seized a significant quantity of illicit drugs and related items. Two individuals were arrested, one of whom has been charged in connection to the May 2025 shooting.
Seized from the Residence:
- Approximately 6.5 kilograms of cocaine
- Approximately 80 grams of fentanyl
- Approximately 280 grams of crystal methamphetamine
- 9mm ammunition
- Cellular phones
- Digital scales
Arrested and Charged:
Mahamud IBRAHIM, 45 years of age, from Hamilton, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm – Loaded
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Aggravated Assault
- Reckless Discharge of a Firearm
- Discharge Firearm with Intent
- Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Court Order (x9)
- Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Proceeds of Crime Under $5,000
Marcela MANRIQUEZ, 39 years of age, from Hamilton, has been charged with:
- Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Proceeds of Crime Under $5,000
